Usually, it is not until a new painting is complete before I am able to title it or add in a phrase that feels like a good fit. But, every once in a while the words come along first and that ultimately inspires the artwork. As was the case with i carry your heart. This beautiful poem by the great ee cummings was the starting point for this painting which we featured for valentines day. The artwork and poetic phrase received such a stunning reception that I decided to create a Ketubah design with the watercolor painting and feature the words “ i carry your heart (i carry it in my heart)” above the landscape.
