Interfaith and Multi-Cultural Weddings

We Value Diversity

We proudly and respectfully work with couples of all faiths and backgrounds and we welcome the opportunity to create meaningful art for your wedding celebration.
We are often asked if you must be Jewish to have a ketubah. We love this question, as it shows that the beauty of this traditional ritual object resonates, regardless of religious affiliation, faith or spiritual background. Why not incorporate the concept of this beautiful tradition into your Interfaith, multicultural, same sex  or secular wedding ceremony and celebration?

Interfaith Weddings

Interfaith weddings offer a unique opportunity to blend two different religions, traditions and families into one. The modern day Ketubah is a wonderful ritual object that can certainly accommodate both religious and /or cultural backgrounds in a beautiful and seamless way. Since our ketubot are custom created for our couples, we welcome you to be a part of the design process so that we can create a work of art that will respectfully represent both of your faiths and cultures in a harmonious way. Although the majority of our texts are perfectly appropriate for couples of all faiths, we do offer a selection of poetic Interfaith Text options for your review.

Award winning fine artist, Michelle "Shell" Rummel, has designed an extraordinary collection of beautiful Ketubah designs that have a timeless appeal. Inspired symbolic imagery, textural lines and gorgeous color palettes are woven together in a way that is modern and fresh. Each design is artistically represented with symbolic concepts of love, commitment and acceptance in a beautiful and inspirational way. Shell's artwork is the perfect companion to your most important wedding vows which will become the centerpiece of your personal fine art collection.

Vow Text

Whether traditional wedding vows or modern day sentiment, across all cultures it is a beautiful custom to honor the words which you will say to each other on your wedding day. We offer three sensitive Interfaith texts which poetically convey traditional concepts of love and commitment. Each original, unique and beautiful text that we offer is relevant to all couples in love and an integral part of any wedding certificate. All of our texts can be customized to better reflect your own unique love. Or, be adventurous and write your own vow text together. We offer multiple font options, including English, Hebrew, Spanish, French and Chinese fonts and we look forward to creating an individualized Ketubah that honors your unique heritages.

Poetic Phrase

Each of our ketubot features a poetic phrase that can be customized to best reflect your love. In addition to traditional biblical phrases such as the popular Song of Songs quote, "ani l'dodi v'dodi li" ("I am My beloveds' and my beloved is mine"), we offer a collection of inspired, original poetic verse as well as poetic sentiment from some of the most revered poets in history ...choose your favorite!

Signature Lines

To validate the Ketubah, traditional Jewish weddings call upon witnesses to sign the ketubah before the ceremony. There are often signature lines for the Bride and Groom as well as the Officiating Rabbi or Clergy member. Of course, there are all sorts of variations on who is honored through signature. Traditional Amish weddings honor all of the wedding guests by having them sign either a separate sheet of paper or the back of the formal wedding certificate. If you like this custom and wish to honor special guests, our studio is happy to customize a set of signature lines that will be appropriate for your wedding ceremony.

Customization

We are delighted to accommodate your special requests. We are dedicated to making your Ketubah a reflection of your artistic, cultural, religious, traditional and personal preferences, and we encourage you to consider incorporating our various creative custom options to make your Ketubah even more unique and special. We offer customization options on an รก la carte basis, which means that you have an opportunity to add any or all of our custom options to your order.

Presentation

In most Jewish Wedding ceremonies, the ketubah is prominently displayed during the wedding ceremony as it is common for the Rabbi or Officiating Clergy to read the vow text words aloud during the ceremony. Afterwards, the ketubah is placed on display at the reception for all guests to see, read and admire. After wedding day, most couples professionally frame their wedding certificate and hang it in their home; not only a work of art but a beautiful daily reminder of their love and commitment to each other.

With our "Wedding Prep Package", we offer professional, archival mounting and matting of your Wedding Certificate in an elegant neutral white matte, with a protective overlay so that you can sign your Certificate and then display the protected artwork, worry free at the reception. For your convenience, we include an archival ink signing pen, so that you can be certain that your signatures will last a lifetime.
