Artist Statement: When I first begin to paint a ketubah, I don’t always have an initial direction and sometimes the final concept is not always apparent to me. Depths of My Soul began as an idea to create a leafy tree with a very detailed landscape. What gradually emerged was a very lifelike tree deeply anchored within a fantastically layered earth. This design brings together many of the elements I love best…textural, repetitive and abstracted design motifs. As the landscape developed, so did the connection for the ketubah concept. The finished design with it’s apropos phrase and title celebrates the depths of love, heart and mind, in their all encompassing entirety.
