When I first saw artist Rachel Eisen Bressler’s extraordinary hand painted silk chuppah designs, I fell in love. Not only were they simply gorgeous, but they also were so reminiscent of my own flowing watercolor designs that I instantly knew an artistic collaboration was “Bashert”…Meant to Be.
Rachel and I are proud to be working together to offer our clients beautiful, one-of-a-kind artistic chuppot that are designed to coordinate seamlessly with many of KetubahTree’s fine art ketubah and wedding invitation collections. Each color palette has been specially chosen by me to connect with my existing artwork. Each chuppah is individually hand painted …these are not printed reproductions. The designs are soothing and tranquil. The colors are vibrant and the silk so luminous…these heirloom quality fine art chuppot are truly magical and will be a breathtakingly beautiful and memorable canopy under which to share your wedding day vows.

About the Chuppah:
A traditional wedding Chuppah (often spelled Chuppa, Huppah, chuppot (pl) huppot (pl)) is the canopy under which the bridal couple says their wedding vows. Chuppah means "that which covers or floats above". It is open on all four sides, recalling the tents of our nomadic ancestors, and must be a temporary structure. The chuppah canopy represents G-d's presence at the wedding, and is a symbol of the home. In this sense, the chuppah is often viewed as the couple's first home.
It is an honor to be asked to hold a chuppah pole, as the four faces surrounding the couple represent the support of the community who will help them establish their home together. A chuppah is also a wonderful way to introduce a Jewish custom into an interfaith marriage, as it is one of tradition rather than of Jewish law. And in fact, since chuppah pole bearers are not performing a strictly religious duty, therefore this becomes a wonderful way to incorporate non-Jewish friends into the wedding ceremony.
About our Chuppah collection:
Each chuppah is hand painted on 100% silk, measuring approximately 6ft x 4ft. Each comes fully trimmed with a supple, ivory double faced satin ribbon. Each corner of the chuppah has a ribbon loop and extra lengths of ribbon which can be used to easily attach/tie the chuppah to poles, branches, or frames of your choosing. Although we do not provide the chuppah poles, most florists are accustomed to creating chuppot for their Jewish clients and should have appropriate poles on hand. We suggest you speak with your florist to share your vision about how your chuppah will be assembled on wedding day. Typically, your florist will embellish the chuppah poles with fresh flowers and greenery to complement your silk hand-painted chuppah. Chuppot colors are light and heat fast and can be preserved along with your wedding gown to save for future generations. Or frame as is and hang in your home or over a bed for a one-of-a-kind heirloom canopy.
